It's probably easier to swallow a thousand needles than silence all those who idle about. The office is soundproof, but Gavin hears the knock through the security system outside. The door shimmers a faint pink before it opens of its own accord.

A Sylveon perched in the lap of the underboss yawns, displaying tiny fangs to their visitor.

"Come in," Gavin invites. "Sit."

It's cold in his office, with its barren personality of metal hues. Though there is no gleam of red from beyond the circular window, a faint PRESSURE denotes Lugia's apparent proximity.

"Do you know why you're here?"

He is still in the face of pressure, graceful in his stride as he takes the seat as intended. Though the room seems cold in its presentation, there have been more chilling sights that he's encountered -

Blackwell had been a threat. Not so much Gavin, especially not with that support Sylveon he was cradling.

Transgressions - It is due to this that his pokemon remain out of sight, his emotions kept in check as he leans back into his seat. THEO BECKETT had deserved it, they had both known that Ryuuzaki didn't need to follow through to deliver his message. Beckett may have taught him where to find the ropes but he had left the rest to independent studies and experiences - There would be no attachment nor dependence where it hadn't been developed.

It takes a great deal of effort not to sigh in exasperation.

Gavin's lips press together in a dissatisfied line. It wasn't so much Theo had been in danger — Gavin knew better than most that the man was capable of self-defense. It was that Ryuuzaki had been bold enough to assault him in plain view of others.

"I am interested in anything you might perceive as a reason to meet with me," he drawls, slow. "But your assumption about Beckett is correct."

Though Sylveon appears at first to be sweet, docile, there's a certain aura of malice in its glittering blue eyes. Like trainer, like Pokemon.

"He is your superior, Ryuuzaki; you will not accost him again, or you'll be dealing with me. If you have an issue with one of the Admins, you come to me, or to Choi. What did he do to give you 'reason'?"

Of course, there is a time and place for thing such as blacklists and information drawn from trembling lips. He just needs a little more time to decipher the web of words presented before his very eyes. For now, he focuses in on the Sylveon's little threat, a brow raised at its malice - To hold the ability to threaten freely, those in power never did have to worry about petty things such as titles, only needed to remember the names of those who had wronged them.

He dismisses it with a flick of his wrist. If he later found that Ryuuzaki had misled him in some way, they'd deal with it then.

His lips purse as the conversation shifts.

"Suzume is one of Beckett's best. I find it difficult to believe he'd bring harm to her without reason." Gavin was, after all, another of THEO BECKETT's projects. "Tell me what happened."

"I know that he saved my life when any other admin in Kanto would've slit my throat." His voice is sharp to contrast Ryuuzaki's coldness, but not once does he raise it. Gavin never yells, even in anger. "You forget that I outrank him, now."

He does not, for one second, think Ryuu has forgotten.

"As does Choi. Do you think we intend to bring her harm?"

He remembers all too well what Kanto had been like, the fear to think without permission. It will never be like that again.

"Suzu should be somewhere else. Anywhere but here. And Beckett's rein on her does nothing to help that. She doesn't express any intentions of leaving, but I personally hope that she won't keep getting caught up in this mess. She doesn't need to keep throwing herself at danger, nor should she need to kill anymore. I want her to be able to leave this all behind and go have as normal of a life as she can."

ryuuzaki amemiya definitely has a reason to fear. But unlike in Kanto, treacherous words alone will not be met with brutality. He understands the desire to protect one's family more than Ryuu realizes.

"I outrank Beckett. If she wants to step back from her role, she can come to me. To Chu-e Choi. But it would need to be her choice and I sincerely doubt it's one she'll ever make. The chance at a normal life for any of us has been nullified."

Ryuuzaki knows that he's more naive than he lets on, more hopeful than what a supposed murderer should be like. Still, there's an option that is slipped and in turn, an avenue to be explored at the soonest possible convenience. Though Gavin voices his beliefs, he keeps the offer in mind and simply shrugs, his emotions zipped up as he gives a nonchalant grin.

If ryuuzaki amemiya had hurt Beckett, that would have been another matter entirely, but in that situation, Gavin's sure Beckett would've handled it himself. Hell, he could handle this himself, but... protocol.
